We offer our guide services to school and student groups, to make them more familiar with the cultural and artistic aspects of Granada, giving a special mention to the Alhambra and the Generalife, showing the medieval World and the most representative art of the Muslim culture in Spain.
An alternative to the Alhambra palaces is a walk full of enchantment through the historical centre of Granada, showing you how Muslim Granada became Christian Granada, since Granada was taken over by the Christian monarchs, who chose the royal chapel of Granada as their final rest place. This chapel, with a deep historical and human aspect, as well as a religious aspect, because of the religious personality of queen Isabel, is situated next to world’s 4th cathedral, for wich the impulse was given by their grand son, the emperor Charles the 5th, and representative for Spanish renaissance.
Another “must” in this city is the UNESCO site of the Albaycin Quarter, area where civilisations such as Iberos, Phoenicians Romans and Arabs settled, each of them leaving their influence in this maze of narrow roads, corners and small squares, conserving an irrigation system build a 1000 years ago. It is a real acropolis, and a prevallaged place to enjoy the views of the Alhambra palaces and the Sierra Nevada.
All the above mentioned walks and visits will be realised by our highly qualified guides, who will adapt their knowledge to the students level and age. Our cooperation Guias de Granada S.C.A. counts with guides, all with a university degree, and some of them are alternating between guiding and teaching.
